Over the last several years, specifically in regards to social media, I have noticed a disturbing trend. That trend? The binary thinking that we place ourselves into.

Most people have either heard or been told that losing weight is important to living a long and healthy life. This couldn’t be more true in the United States as more than 70% of the population is now considered “overweight” according to the CDC using BMI — body mass index.

This is a significant problem that we as a nation need to discuss in the open. Not only does obesity cause individual problems, but it also puts a strain on the medical community and contributes to a rise in healthcare costs — this is due to more services needed.

I love waking up early and hitting the gym. There is no better way to start the day than working hard to achieve your goals. My resolution for 2020 (before Covid-19 so rudely interrupted our lives) was to build muscle while reducing body fat percentage.
